Trader Joe’s Kansas City: Stores Open 15 July!
At last the grand opening of Trader Joe’s in Kansas City is less than a month away! Those of us who LOVE Trader Joe’s are sooo excited that at last this awesome store is close at hand.

Great news, there will be two locations for Trader Joe’s in the Kansas City area:
- 1. Ward Parkway Center (Near Target)
- 2. 119th & Roe
We drove by the Trader Joe’s location on Ward Parkway today…. lights are on, sign is up and folks were working on the parking lot. Yeah!!
Like I said… we are soo excited… I can’t wait to buy the delish coffee and tea/ yummy snacks and wonderful cheeses…. eeks! I am not sure what products I have missed the most!

I assume that because of the backward laws of Kansas that wine will not be available at TJ’s on the KS side. Is this true?
Second Question: Will it be legal for me to purchase a case of Charles Shaw, a.k.a. “Two-Buck Chuck” on the MO side and bring it back home to backward Kansas? I understand TJ’s is the only place to get “Two-Buck Chuck.” I have purchased it in CA and MO but could not bring any back home with me because of dumb KS laws.

As we are a Trader Joe’s Fan Site, we cannot speak with complete authority on Trader Joe’s regarding their liquor license. But we agree with your assumption that only the Trader Joe’s in Missouri will have wine for sale. We think you will be just fine to purchase wine at Trader Joe’s and take it home to Kansas, just like you do from other Missouri liquor stores 🙂

Do you know what time the store opens?
The Ward Parkway Store opens up at 8am! YEAH!! Both stores will be open 8 AM to 9pm daily…. Have fun…. let us know what you think! Cheers! Kristin & Delaina
